Hello Everyone!
Welcome to The Balance Act! This is your perfect resource for all things productivity. This website has been created as a class assignment where we create a website from an idea and create content throughout the semester. The advice that you find here will teach you to schedule your days, create a successful routine and maintain a balanced lifestyle. It embraces the craziness of life and helps you to find new and creative ways to make sure that every element of your schedule is getting the attention it deserves. I’m so excited that you’re here!
My name is Maria and I am a college student who is constantly on the go. From taking classes, participating in clubs and teaching figure skating my days are jam packed. But these past four years haven’t been my first experience with balancing a busy schedule. As a high school student I was a full time student who was also a competitive figure skater and the CEO of a student run company. This required me to plan ahead and create resources for myself that would assist in organization. Each day I would go right from school to skating practice and then return home where I would complete my homework and work on marketing plans, event ideas, and day to day activities for our company. And that was when I wasn’t traveling to compete. My schedule was constantly changing and I learned quickly that I had to be on top of it. The lessons I learned during high school have benefited me in every aspect of my life and I create The Balance Act to share these lessons with you.
Each week The Balance Act will cover a new topic of productivity. This includes everything from creating a to-do lists and calendars to handling school absences with the primary focus of adaptation. Life happens and your schedule should reflect that! The goal of The Balance Act is not to show you what your schedule and routine should look like. It is to lead you through a process of creating a schedule that works best for you. When it comes to scheduling there is no one size fits all and we recognize that. The resources that will be provided through The Balance Act will be adaptable to your individual requirements.
